Crown Drum Corps

About

Crown, is a world-renowned, award-winning drum and bugle corps comprised of 165 performers, ages 16-21, that are selected from a rigorous audition process that spans the course of several months. Each season, Crown creates an 11-minute field show designed and taught by experts in the marching performing arts from all around the world. After completing the show, Crown embarks on an extensive 2-month long nationwide tour captivating the hearts of hundreds of thousands all while competing with other drum and bugle corps at the highest level.

What is Drum Corps?

Drum corps are touring outdoor performing ensembles, much like a marching band, featuring brass, battery, front ensemble, & color guard. Carolina Crown is a member corps of Drum Corps International’s World Class, meaning that Crown is one of the top marching ensembles in the world. Drum Corps International, the governing circuit for our activity, puts on a 2-month competitive summer tour through which drum corps from around the United States and world compete for the coveted title of World Champion. The competitive summer tour culminates in August in Indianapolis, Indiana, where a weekend long world championship event is held to determine the next Drum Corps International World Champion.
