Crown Partners With Rock Hill Bands on Successful NightBEAT 2010
Carolina Crown’s premier event, NightBEAT, went off without a hitch on a surprisingly cool August evening last Sunday. This year’s event featured eight drum corps including six currently ranked in the “top 12” of Drum Corps International (DCI). 1st Place was awarded to the home team, Carolina Crown, for only the 2nd time in NightBEAT history!
Board President Kevin Smith noted, “Even though attendance was down slightly from last year and we didn’t make our financial goals, the event was such a positive experience for the audience we feel we accomplished our overall objective with this great event! The second straight year of such solid operational success proves to us that we made the right decision in bringing NightBEAT to District 3 Stadium and extending our Partnership in Education with the Rock Hill band programs.”
In appreciation for the great work done by their booster associations, Carolina Crown presented a check totaling $12,000 to the Northwestern, Rock Hill and South Pointe High School Bands during intermission of the event. During the presentation, Carolina Crown Director of Marketing and Business Development, Eric Sabach, stated... “Carolina Crown’s mission to “Develop lifelong excellence in young people” not only pertains to the many talented young people performing in the drum corps and CrownGUARD. Our Partnership In Education programs support many of the schools in our footprint with middle school honor band programs, camps, and clinics. Our CrownSTORE helps programs afford the equipment they desperately need.
At this time we would like to present to: Joe Gulledge, Band Director at Rock Hill High School Larry Wells, Band Director at Northwestern High School James Turner, Band Director at South Pointe High School checks for $4000 for each of their band programs from the Carolina Crown organization.” |
